In January 2015 Gurnick Academy received an approval to begin offering an Associate of Science in Radiologic Technology from Accrediting Bureau for Health Education Schools (ABHES). Previously, Gurnick Academy offered a diploma in Radiologic Technology and required an Associate of Science degree as a prerequisite. The Associate degree is required to sit for the national accreditation exam given by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). With this requirement not satisfied with the new AS degree in Radiologic Technology interested individuals without a degree may apply.
“We are so pleased to offer this new program. It opens the door for many more applicants. We know that the new curriculum will serve our students well,” said Ted Vanderlaan, Radiologic Technology Program Director of Gurnick Academy.
The length of the AS in Radiologic Technology program is 2 years. Currently the program is offered at Concord Campus only. The philosophy of the Program is to graduate students who will demonstrate the knowledge and skills required of competent entry-level radiologic technologists and to insure that these graduates perform radiologic procedures as defined by the American Society of Radiologic Technologists Practice Standards. After completion of the course students may take the ARRT examination.
The AS in Radiologic Technology program start date is the July 6, 2015 and application deadline is May 1, 2015.
